Registered Massage Therapist

Jessica Jones

Registered Massage Therapist with a broad healthcare background — emergency medical response, licensed practical nursing, and massage therapy. Jessica's practice spans therapeutic and deep tissue massage, myofascial release and trigger point therapy, pre- and postnatal care, and manual lymphatic drainage.

Background

Jessica Jones is a Registered Massage Therapist who arrived at RMT work by way of a long run through the rest of healthcare. Before massage therapy she worked as an Emergency Medical Responder in the oil and gas industry, then completed her Licensed Practical Nurse training and spent years in direct patient care. She also taught First Aid for several years — an experience that sharpened how she explains things, builds trust quickly, and gets people comfortable in a clinical setting.

That background still shows up in every treatment. She graduated as a Registered Massage Therapist from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy and has continued her education since, most notably as a certified Cellular Matrix Repatterning practitioner trained under Dr. George Roth, alongside ongoing work in myofascial technique, nervous system regulation, and breath-informed care.

Approach

Jessica’s treatment toolkit centres on therapeutic and deep tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and manual lymphatic drainage, with particular clinical interest in sports injury rehabilitation and women’s health — pregnancy and postpartum care in particular. Every session is built for the person on the table rather than run off a template: what’s tight, what’s compensating, what you’re trying to get back to.

She pairs hands-on work with therapeutic exercise education, breath awareness, and somatic principles, so you leave understanding your own body a little better and with something to work on between visits. She has a specific interest in the relationship between chronic pain, the nervous system, and emotional well-being — useful for patients whose symptoms have outlasted the original injury and stopped responding to rest alone.

Her caseload runs wide: athletes working through an acute injury, patients managing long-standing pain, parents through pregnancy and postpartum, and desk and trades workers carrying postural tension.

Outside the clinic

Outside the clinic Jessica is usually with her daughter, making the most of the Okanagan — paddleboarding, skiing, hiking, yoga, and a garden that keeps her busy. Movement and time outside aren’t a sideline for her; they’re a large part of how she thinks about staying healthy.
