Chiropractor

Dr. Steve Hofmann

Chiropractor at Bluebird Sport & Spine, who focuses on keeping you moving and back doing the things you love. Maybe that's an Ironman or an ultra-race, or maybe your first 5km run. Maybe you just want to be able to lift your grandkids onto the swings. You bring your goals and let's get to work! Special interests include sport and running injuries, concussion and post-concussion syndrome management, and non-operative care for lumbar spinal stenosis.

About Dr. Steve

Dr. Steve was born and raised in Grand Forks, BC. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, along with certificates in Applied Human Nutrition and Health & Fitness Studies, before going on to chiropractic education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, where he graduated summa cum laude with clinical honours.

He completed full-body certification in Active Release Techniques® and holds Graston Technique® certification. He was previously a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and is a provider member of Exercise is Medicine Canada.

Teaching

Dr. Steve previously taught musculoskeletal anatomy, biomechanics, and kinesiology at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy, and continues to serve on the OVCMT Program Advisory Committee.

Approach

Dr. Steve combines manual therapy with active rehabilitation, with particular interests in sport and running injuries, concussion and post-concussion syndrome management, and non-operative approaches to lumbar spinal stenosis. The goal of every treatment plan is the same: get you back to the activities you care about, with tools you can use yourself between visits.

Outside the clinic

Dr. Steve spends most of his free time outside in the mountains — trail running and mountain biking in the warmer months. He’ll throw in a little tennis and pickleball now and then, but he draws the line at golf. In the winter you will find him chasing powder on his snowboard, but, if conditions aren’t great, he may make do with some mellow laps on his downhill skis or even an outing on the “misery sticks,” more commonly known as cross-country skis.
