Chiropractor

Dr. Laura McPherson

Chiropractor for active families and athletes of all ages, with additional advanced training in pediatric and prenatal care — including the Webster Technique and the ICPA Pediatric Certification of Proficiency. Dr. Laura works with patients across the full age range — from active adults and athletes of every level through pregnancy, postpartum, and pediatric and infant care.

Background

Dr. Laura McPherson is a Doctor of Chiropractic who works with patients across the full age range — active adults and athletes of every level, families, pregnancy and postpartum, and pediatric and infant care.

She completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Alberta and went on to graduate with clinical honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. From there she pursued the additional training needed to work safely and effectively with the populations she’s most passionate about.

Pediatric and prenatal focus

Dr. Laura holds the Paediatric Certification of Proficiency through the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association and is certified in the Webster Technique — a specific assessment and treatment protocol used in pregnancy chiropractic care to address pelvic alignment.

She also has specific training in tethered oral tissue (lip and tongue tie) and oral dysfunction, with ongoing advanced work in motor development through childhood. For families looking for clinically grounded, age-appropriate care during pregnancy, postpartum, and the early years, this is the part of her practice that lights her up.

Approach

Dr. Laura prides herself on her ability to listen and to tailor her approach to each patient’s individual goals — whether that’s an infant with feeding challenges, a parent in late pregnancy with SI joint pain, or a competitive athlete returning from injury. She layers in Active Release Technique®, Graston Technique®, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), and Functional Neurodynamics as the situation calls for. The right combination depends on the person in front of her, what their body is asking for, and what fits into their life.

Outside the clinic

Married with two young children and two energetic pups, Dr. Laura enjoys all the outdoor activities the Okanagan has to offer. She’s grateful to be living in Vernon and exploring the area with her family.
